Herbert William Darrall, Age 29
Private, 23728, 7th Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry.
Herbert was the son of Mr William & Louisa Darrall of Lawley Bank and brother of Benjamin. He had worked at the Ketley works prior to enlistment. Herbert was killed in action on April 9th 1917 on the first day of the battle of Arras (1st Battle of the Scarpe) as the 8th brigade attacked the German 3rd line.
He is buried in the Tilloy British cemetery at Tilloy-Ies-Mofflaines in Grave IV.E.18
